No 428 - Redknobbed Coot - Fulica cristata
Redknobbed Coot
A common all-black water bird with white face and rather strange red knobs on it's head. They seem to spend a lot of time chasing coots and other species in a rather noisy overwater chase. I assume they must be defending a territory or nest site, to warrant all this performance.
If not, they stand a good chance of being reported for disturbing the peace. Seems stupid to risk getting a criminal record, they could end up in court.
