I am a big heron fan, so I just love this bird. They tend to be a bit shy, but in some areas will allow quite close inspection. A little smaller than the Grey Heron but just as impressive. In flight black and white underwings are visable with the typical heron shape.
In this painting I've included reeds and water. The water is clear, which I hope gives a fresh feel to the painting. Clear water is also an indication that there is a good balance in nature.
