No 627 - Grey Heron - Ardea cinerea
The Grey Heron happens to be one of my favourite birds to paint. It is so elegant and is recognised in many parts of the world. The combination of the bird, water and reeds makes for a great painting. However to prove what a beautiful bird it is, I have painted it in this instance with a rather plain background and I am sure you will agree that it is still striking.
